Late to the party on this but Tommy Orange’s There, There is such an achievement. One of my favorite genres within fiction is a structure where each chapter consists of a short story and characters intersect within the same community (Elizabeth Strout and Francine Prose are masters at this). This book was so fulfilling albeit heartbreaking. I kept thinking about it for weeks.
