Sheesh. This book was lovely. Sensual, poignant, thoughtful, heartbreaking. I love a book with California characters which isn’t about Hollywood. Also, it was filled with characters who have been dealt a rough deck but are honestly doing their best. The love story was legit. Maybe it’s LaCour’s YA roots here but I felt similar squishy empathy as I did when I read Rainbow Rowell’s Eleanor & Park. Please read this immediately.
